I was reviewing the footage from Friday night/ Saturday morning where we moved (3) 100+ year old 40,000lbs-60,000lbs Olive trees at the Cal Tech Campus in Pasadena and just barely was able to catch our Foreman helping a girl struggling with her luggage. Among all the amazing footage of giant trees going down public roads, big crane set ups and countless people shooting video on their camera phones this was my favorite, just an awesome, genuine moment. I thought really shows the character of the people who make up Senna Tree Co. Lake Sherwood, CA and Thousand Oaks, CA are a living testament to the efficacy of tree moving. You don’t have to try and imagine what this place would look like without the 1000’s of transplanted Oaks, there are many other cities that clear cut their native oaks to accommodate housing developments. Fortunately most cities have come around to the value of saving these stunning natural resources. The houses in these areas are multi million dollars, without the sprawling oak canopy dotted throughout the landscape- I doubt the real estate would fetch such a significant dollar amount. Love the fact that they were willing to develop this city with nature as a focal issue, rather than the “clear cut and pop in a couple 15 gal” approach. #sennatreecompany #treemoving #treetransplanting #oaktree
