Three generations caring for trees.
Charlie Mote started his residential tree care business in the La Crescenta/La Cañada area in 1962. This was John Mote, Sr.’s introduction to the tree business where he worked as a groundman and climber from 1975 until joining the tree moving division at Valley Crest Tree Company in 1984.
In 1997 John Sr. founded Senna Tree Company, in 2004 John Mote, Jr. joined the family business which has been independent, family owned and operated ever since.

Senna Tree Company specializes in the big tree relocation, preservation and sale of large specimen trees.
The company’s contract tree moving services provides unparalleled in-house capability and expertise to preserve and relocate trees from 48″ to 40′ box size.
In 2006 Senna Tree Company received a world record from the Guinness Book of World records for the largest tree successfully moved on planet earth. That tree, a 916,000 lbs Valley Oak with an 84″ trunk diameter and 100′ spread was moved in 2002 and still thrives today. View Slideshow Here
At our Los Angeles nursery facility, you will find over 10 acres of unique, one of a kind, specimen trees and palms, hand selected for quality and vigor.

A TRULY GREEN COMPANY
Each year Senna Tree Company, with the support of our customers, saves hundreds of trees which might otherwise be destroyed. These are quality trees displaced by site development, all carefully selected, harvested from the urban landscape and maintained at our nursery facilities until our customers give them new homes. Senna Tree Company has invested over $4 million dollars replacing or upgrading our entire fleet with the most advanced clean burning diesel technology, exceeding federal and state “Clean Air” requirements.
